"By 1989, the large flash on the vertical tail, that had been part of VF-14's original markings for it's Tomcats, again became a standard part of the "Tophatters" markings. But in keeping with the low-visibility markings on the tactical paint scheme, the flash and its outline were different shades of gray. This is the CAG Tomcat, BuNo. 162700, showing those markings. The aircraft is painted in the overall Light Gull Gray scheme and it has colorful national insignias and stenciling.
