HQ Air Mobility Command, (AMC), has directed all Active Duty units to remove the “U.S. AIR FORCE marking,” all unit markings, tail numbers and other identifying markings. Now, only the U.S. flag on the tail and a subdued gray Air Force roundel are authorized. AMC says the change was directed for operational security and cost savings measures. It is unclear if Air Force Reserve and ANG units will be forced to comply with this new 2023 directive. Stay tuned for late breaking developments …
