Play the role of Peter N. Beagle, a.k.a. "Pops" in Ace Combat 5's Mission 19: Final Option.
Lead Wardog Squadron as Pops and perform low level maneuvers to evade the 8492nd Squadron. Follow your intuition (green gates) to find the safest route to evade their attacks and reach the north part of the island along with Blaze, Nagase and Grimm. If captain Snow (Swordsman) mades contact, follow his instructions.

Ceres Ocean.
The veil has fallen. 8492nd Squadron are belkan aces that participated in the Belkan War. Hamilton seems like one of their high ranking officers also infiltrated in the Osean Army.
We, the Wardog Squadron, were accused of being yuktobanian spies. We barely made it out of the base in unarmed T-45 training jets. Blaze, Nagase, Grimm and I in the pilot's seat; and Genette, that war correspondent and Kirk, Lieutenant Colonel Davenport's pet in the copilot's seats.
The Osean Army received command of destroying us. We no longer have a home to return to with both sides of the war, Osea and Yuktobania, wanting us dead.
The 8492nd Squadron is at our 6' in intercept course. We are close to a volcanic island that we could use to make their job difficult. I'll take the lead and perform some combat maneuvers to evade them, hopefully we will make it out alive by exploiting the intense interferences the island generates.
Captain Marcus Snow, onboard of his F-14, will come to intercept us too. He knows about Hamilton and the belkan aces so if we meet we may have an opportunity of fleeing together.

Q- Why is there no music?
A- Sadly, the T-45 doesn't have working radios just yet to comunicate with the game IA (it works with Simple Radio for multiplayer reasons). If VNAO develop them, you can tune your radio to the hidden blue AWACS that I placed with a continuous looped emission of the music. The radio is preset 1. Meanwhile I recommend you to play the mission OST in the background, you can surely find it in Youtube. Ace Combat missions aren't the same without the soundtrack.
Q- What happens if some of the wing pilots crash during the maneuvers?
A- Nothing, the mission counts as complete once you (Pops) reaches the ending "cinematic". The ingame IA is very dumb about low level flight and can crush itself into a tree easily. I turned their inteligence into "Ace" and sometimes works and all the 4 pilots survive until the end. But the important thing is that you survive.
Q- Can you pet the dog?
A- Yes, use the communications menu when Kirk talks.
Q- Is it possible to kill the enemy 8492nd Squadron?
A- Well, the T-45 are unnarmed but maybe you can try maneuver-killing them. I've not tried it. BTW they are set to "ace" too.
Q- What happens if I don't follow the gated path?
A- Pops is a very seasoned ace fr om the Belkan War. He knows exatly how to fly to evade the 8492's capabilities (he can also fly in a way that minimizes the received damage). If he did not listen to his instincts, of course the enemy squadron would detect them, lock them and kill them.
Q- I don't know wh ere exacly the mission ends!
A- The mission ends when the MISSION COMPLETE/FAIL appears. You fail if you crash/get killed by the 8492nd Squadron, or you get above.
Q- Will you make more Ace Combat missions?
A- Probably yes, as soon as I have some spare time.
