Basic Fight Maneuver (BFM) Gun-only Mission version 2.1 for free maps: Caucasus and Marianas. Updated on 2022-08-25
Improved version of 1-on-1 gun-only BFM version 2, with number of bugs fixes and changes in opponents.
Installation:
Unzip the file and copy the contents inside the Missions folder of the DCS under Saved Games directory. There are 2 folders inside: the Caucasus folder contains missions using the Caucasus map whereas Marianas folder contains missions using the Marianas map.
Play:
In DCS, select Missions, go to the folder where the BFM 2.1 contents are installed. Select the map folder then select the mission file of which you wish to fly in and load the mission file. Then you will be presented with the list of opponents to fly against. Click on the plane to fly against, or select random for a random opponent. Combat starts after both planes merged and you get the weapons free message is shown.
All the missions of the same map have the same setup:
Caucasus - Snowy valley, mid-day with clouds at 16,404 feet and density of 6 snowing. Both planes start at about 6nm apart flying towards each other at 1000 feet AGL.
Marinas - Sea, mid-day with clouds at 10171 feet and density of 7 raining. Both planes start at about 6nm apart flying towards each each other at 500 feet AGL.

Remove all the chaff and flares where possible
Remove all pylons where possible
Preset all player radios to the designated landing shore where possible.
Unite all the liveries for player planes across the maps
Change the weather and the sun positions of both maps
Swap out F/A-18C, F-14B, and MiG-15, as opponents, with MiG-23MLD and Spitfire Mk.IX
Future plans:
1. 1-on-1 gun-only BFM on NTTR, South Pacific, Syria, and Persian Gulf maps
2. 2 vs 2 gun-only BFM on both free and paid maps
3. Cold War-era planes BFM training missions (AJS-37, Mirage F1CE, A-4E-C, MiG-21 bis, F-5E-3, etc) on both free and paid maps
