75-0747, F-16A FSD Number 3, Edwards AFB, CA
Serial Number 75-0747 was the 3rd Full Scale Development prototype to undergo testing at Edwards AFB. FSD No. 3 was instantly distinguishable by it's two-tone paint scheme featured here. This aircraft later became the F-16XL and eventually a two seat F-16XL/B
75-0747 was the third FSD to be delivered to Edwards AFB for YF-16 testing. The aircraft crashed during testing after the nosewheel blew during takeoff. It was recovered, shipped to Fort Worth via C-5 Galaxy and was rebuilt into the First F-16XL. The aircraft is now awaiting restoration for display at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH
