F/A-18C practice mission with targets for observing and understanding HAFUs, MSI, LTWS, SA, AZ/EL and IFF. Read the manuals first. Syria map required.
At 5,000ft: 2 friendlies (F-15, F-14) and 2 hostiles (MiG-29, MiG-21) are doing laps up and down the Galilee (Syria map). You are positioned in front of them. Hit Active Pause and use MSI, LTWS, SA, AZ/EL, IFF to observe and understand the different HAFU symbols that appear. At 30,000ft West: An AWACS orbits to provide 2/3 size SURV HAFUs. At 20,000ft East: A friendly F-16 engages 3 F-5Es to show you bottom half HAFUs and TXDSG (SA) lines. You can also command your wingman to engage the other hostiles. All hostiles will not attack. The MiG-29 and F-5Es are immortal to prolong observation.
Note: As of 16 Jun 21 (DCS 2.7.2.7910.1 Open Beta), ED's implementation of MSI is not quite right. Remove the AWACS and you'll notice bottom half HAFUs are not contributed by F/F donors unless their targets are in STT which is not correct. Hence the need to have the F-16 attack (STT) the F-5Es.
