THE PUPPET MASTER is the third installment in the series of story driven missions that began in THE BATTLE FOR BEIRUT.
Following the events of the last episode in THE RIVER RUN, the militia groups have been driven out of the city and the remaining forces in the mountain valleys have been routed out following your excellent work with the laser guided rockets. However, your work is not yet finished and you are now being called on again as the kidnapped Lebanese President Michel Aoun has been located.
YOUR MISSION will be to provide an advance Air Strike on the hostage compound to clear the way for the NAVY SEAL rescue as they approach the site in a CH-47D and a UH-60A...but be on alert as Russian Mig-29s have been spotted in the skies...
A positive ID of the Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, has been confirmed by Agency Operatives working in eastern Syria. They have tracked Aoun to the ancient city of Palmyra where he was transferred to a contingent of Hezbollah and is being held hostage.
Unfortunately, discussions to gain Syrian support for the rescue of Aoun have broken down as Syrian President, Bashar Assad, who “refusing the be a puppet of the West” is suspected of being receptive to Russian and Hezbollah military operations in his country. Regardless, President Donald J. Trump has given direct orders to the Agency to proceed with a plan to retrieve Aoun with or without Assad’s approval. Noting that Aoun is a key strategic ally for the West and is “needed” to lead Lebanon. In addition, President Trump has also given strict orders to all Agency personnel to discontinue investigations and accusations that Russia was involved in the August 5th explosion in Beirut and the Russian SU-27s and MiG-29s that were shot down during OPERATION BATTLE FOR BEIRUT, stating “Russia is a great country...I would love to be able to get along with Russia...”
As we do not have approval to enter Syrian air space this will be a covert operation. SEAL TEAM 6 is currently based out of the U.S. Military Base Al-Tanf in Syria just 70 nm south of the Hezbollah compound where Aoun is being held. The NAVY SEALs will be operating two helos and will standby east of the compound until you have completed your air strike.
