Heritage scheme for the JF-17 based on He.111A-0s of the Cantonese Air Force, Republic of China Air Force, and China National Aviation Corporation.

The roundels are those of the Cantonese Air Force before its aircraft were included in RoCAF, and the 粵 (Canton) marking on the nose is a nod to that air force as well, being responsible for the introduction of He.111A-0s to China and having been worn on aircraft in the service of that region. The paint scheme is that of He.111A-0s in RoCAF service, featuring the signature fin flash of the RoCAF. The all-white Cantonese scheme transitioned to the Medium Green and Sky Blue scheme shortly after entering RoCAF service, and some aircraft had their propeller spinners painted yellow. The yellow band around the intake is a nod to those aircraft. The 中 二 markings on the vertical stabilizer are a nod to the He.111A-0s that survived into CNAC service and were upgraded with Cyclone engines. The No. 2 (二) aircraft is depicted in one of the few extant photos of this aircraft type in CNAC service.
