This P-47D-25 was flown by Capt Fred Christensen of the 62nd Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force.
Christensen was the fourth highest scoring Ace with the 56th Fighter Group, with 21.5 confirmed kills, including 6 Ju52's on one mission on the 7th July 1944.
Unusually Christensen also had his tally recorded on the starboard side of his Thunderbolt in the form of Luftwaffe crosses together with a crew panel.
The name "Rozzie Geth" refers to a college girlfriend of Christensen named Rosamund Gethro.
The aircraft is depicted as it would have appeared in late July 1944 and had had some of its main landing gear covers replaced following battle damage sustained during a mission on the 5th July 1944, hence the missing invasion stripes in those areas.
