In November 1980, Iran launched a major operation against two Iraqi oil rigs used by Iraq for military purposes. As events progressed, Iran destroyed not only two rigs but also a majority of Iraqi Navy and several fighter planes. <br />
This reenactment interprets historic events liberally, the main attack here being carried by airplanes instead of commandos.
Your task is to lead a flight of four F-5Es armed with Mk84 bombs and attack one of two Iraqi oil rigs. The other rig will be attacked by a flight of F-4 Phantoms, taking off just before you. Fighter cover will be provided by another flight of Phantoms. Iraqi fighter resistance is expected in the region but try not to get involved in fights with them.<br />

About victory conditions, I'm afraid they are not set in this mission. There are two types of oil rigs/platforms in DCS. The oil rig looks about ten times cooler than the oil platform but unfortunately, it doesn't have a damage model. I couldn't even get any triggers for explosion and fire effects to work. But I've chosen the rig as the target, based on looks alone :) They will show as dead in the game report.<br />
