Skin pack of Yugoslavian Bf-109Gs Part 1. (Pack is in two parts because of the 100Mb maximum file limitation.)
After WWII Yugoslavian Air Force used Messerschmitts Bf-109Gs. Some were captured from retreating Luftwaffe and Croatian forces but most of the type came from Bulgaria.
In 1947, the Paris Peace Treaty limited the size of Bulgaria's Air Force and some of its excess aircraft were sent to Yugoslavia in military equipment trade negotiations between the two countries.
A total of 59 Bf-109Gs were sent disassembled and transported by rail. Some were 2-seaters, 6 in total, by some sources two of the G series were converted to two-seat trainers in Bulgaria on Yugoslav request.
Part 1 of the pack includes three skins:
- Bf-109G-10 'White 44', Zadar 1951
"White 44" served with the 172nd fighter wing based at Zadar airfield. Some sources say it may have been active on patrol sorties along the Italian frontier during so-called "Trieste crisis" the (fortunately non aggressive) confrontation between Yugoslavia and Italy over the free zone of Trieste. "white 44" retired in 1953 with total flight time in service 35 hours and 15 min.
- Bf-109G-10 'White 45', Pula 1950
"White 45" served with the 83rd Fighter Regiment at Pula airfield. It has wing inscription that says 'Who attacks our land, will find in it his own death'. That was probably inspired by the Trieste Crisis.
- Bf-109G-6 'White 55', Pula 1952
"White 55" was a hybrid machine constructed from G-10 wings (with large wheel bulges) and a G-6 fuselage with late-style fin and rudder. The Medium Grey upper surfaces were further camouflaged with brown blotches. It served with 83rd Fighter Regiment at Pula airfield in 1952.
