This is a mission setup to help you practicing formation flying in the Spitfire Mk.IX.

When you start the mission four Spitfires in front of you are heading North in classic «Finger Four» formation, @ Angel ten and 200 knots - over framerate friendly desert. Follow them or even take the place of one in the formation.

*** This is an adaption of the mission «Six L-39 in formation» published by TIMKA. ALL CREDITS GO TO HIM! ***

JSGME & OvGME compatible.  Only for DCSW 2.x Openalpha!  2 versions: one for the RAF standard skin, one for the HiVis "training" skin.

This is a mission setup to help you practicing formation flying in the Spitfire Mk.IX.
When you start the mission four Spits in front of you are heading North in classic «Finger Four» formation, @ Angel ten and 200 knots - over framerate friendly desert.
You can just follow them and watch them from any direction or you can complete the formation to a "V" of five Spits or you can even try to take up any of the Finger Four position. How? If you carefully manoeuvre dangerously close to any of the planes the pilot will get nervous and finally turn away and free his place. Ignore his curses!
Even if you adjusted your stick axis with deadzones and «slow» curves you'll notice how sensible the Spitfire reacts to all but the tiniest movements of the controls. It all comes down to proper trimming. Like what «Chief Instructor» says about landing. So it'll help you a lot with that, too.
In the first 25nm leg you get plenty of time to close in, then the formation breaks up, the leader's wingman breaking left, the other three aircraft going to the right. You can follow any of them.

*** This is a quick adoption of the mission «Six L-39 in formation» published by TIMKA about a year ago. ALL CREDITS GO TO HIM! ***

Apart from the obvious (exchanging the aircraft, reducing their speed) I made a few quick changes, like reducing the aircraft to a classic Fingers Four formation and giving them simple numbers in place of the markings. I also disarmed them. You're dangerous enough even without arms... BTW, since you don't need the yellow piper ring now, you may want to turn it off. It's named «gun_sight_master». By default, there's no keystroke assigned to it.

The mission is exclusively for DCSW 2.x OpenAlpha. It comes in two versions/skins. One uses the "RAF Standard" skin and the other needs «Spitfire IX fictional Training Paint Version 2» by Tekxx. I highly recommend installing the latter skin. It's very nice and very appropriate for this kind of training mission.

I packed the missions JSGME/OvGME ready. In OvGME you may either "import" the ZIP or simply drop it into your OvGME MODS folder. In JSGME, I guess, you'll have to extract it.
