A simple resave of almost all textures of DCS TF-51D Cockpit with MIP Maps.
This will reduce shimmering for cockpit textures, especially those with text and will slightly increase your FPS in some cases due to more optimal texture size being used.
This is a simple resave of almost all textures of DCS TF-51 D Mustang Cockpit with MIP Maps.
No more shimmering textures when viewing fr om zoom out. This is noticeable on most textures with text on them. Best way to look for this effect is on places with text labels or gauges.
Possible slight increase in FPS due to smaller sized textures being used most of the time (smaller MIP map)
I recommend before doing an update/repair to restore the original file by disabling the mod via JSMGE.
This mod is compatible with JSMGE.
Unpack the folder inside archive to your _Mods folder and then activate the mod via JSMGE.
If all fails (but if you are paying attention it shouldn't be the case) you may do a game repair from Start... All Programs... Eagle Dynamics... DCS World... repair DCS World.
Textures are saved with DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha Preset. DTX5 preserves best quality versus DTX1 or DTX3 and having all the MIPs not just 3 or 4 is better as there is really no loss due to shimmering when the 3rd or 4th MIP is used and the size in MB of the texture raises with few hundreds KB.
All I have done was to resave the textures with the free plugin from nvidia for DDS files. No other modifications were made, so I don't claim the textures are created, recreated or modified artistically by me, merely they are resaved a bit more optimal for the game.
