Operation Name:    TOP DOWN
Mission:                   Escort B-52 Bomber Group
Target Area:            Hormozgan Province, Iran
Objectives:              Bomb Manufacturing Facilities Producing Weapon Grade Plutonium

Mission Planning/Development:  
After the success of OPERATION KRYPTON, Intel/US satellites have identified a second facility that is key to Iran’s ability to produce weapon grade plutonium and centrifuge parts.  This facility is located the city of Anveh.  Their military continues to build these facilities in an urban area hoping to hide their activities.

Operation Top Down will be a strategic strike of force to this newly identified compound.  The strike force will consist of two B-52’s, followed by a single B1-B bombing attacking of the Bandar Lengeh Airbase.  This second strike will only proceed if the first portion of the mission is successful.

The B-52 group will be escorted to the target area by the USS Stennis Strike Group (JCSSG) aircraft.

Mission:                Air Strike on Iranian Facilities Developing Weapon Grade Plutonium
Target Area:           Hormozgan Province, Iran
Objectives:           Bomb Key Locations of Manufacturing Facilities/Shipping Port

It's believed that Iran is producing large amounts of plutonium-240, as would be contained in reactor-grade plutonium, can cause a weapon to detonate early and "fizzle," causing a smaller explosion than intended.  However, even a weapon that fizzles would cause an explosion roughly equivalent to 1,000 tons (1 kiloton) of TNT.  A weapon of this size could kill tens of thousands of people if detonated in a city, which clearly demonstrates that even reactor-grade plutonium would present a potent danger in the hands of terrorists.  Iran has the power to make an unstable Middle East even worse.

Cross the border and perform a surprise attack targeting parked enemy AWACS. Time your strikes and ensure none escape.

Second mission after Operation Strike Back #1.

Short mission w/ both A2A and A2G task. You need to use AWACS, SA and JTAC in order to complete the mission.

All is set in a fictional war/time.

To play this mission you will need F/A-18C module and Persian Gulf.
