This package provides the necessary files to easily (and separately) download and install DCS 2.5.6 (its final Stable release 2.5.6.61527.3, March 5th 2021) from ED's official servers. Just follow the instructions provided with the download package.
PLEASE NOTICE THAT NEW MODULES RELEASED AFTER APRIL 2021 ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON 2.56 - THOSE WORK IN NEWEST DCS VERSIONS ONLY.
The advantage of DCS 2.5.6 is that it provides far better performance, has lower hardware requirements, for all the DCS content that already exhisted then.
Also note that 2.5.6 isn't Multiplayer compatible with any other versions. But with more users reverting to this version of 2.5.6, it may become populated in MP.
