This is a semi-dynamic multi-element strike against the port at Zeebrugge, Belgium.  Configured for either the Mosquito or the P-47 Thunderbolt.  Enemy aerial encounters will change from mission-to-mission.

*REQUIRES WWII ASSET PACK*

SITUATION:
The enemy continues to expand the port facilities at Zeebrugge, Belgium.  They are currently using the port to sustain E-Boat and U-Boat operations in the English Channel and North Sea.  The port facilities represent a threat to a future invasion effort and must be destroyed.  The port is well defended.

Large scale fighter opposition is declining near the coast.  The Luftwaffe appears to be reserving its fighter force to defend German cities.  Nevertheless, pilots should remain alert for enemy fighters at all times.

Weather conditions are nearly ideal for an attack with largely clear skys and light winds.  Scattered cloud cover above 10,000 ft.  Temps are chilly at 5 degrees C (41 F).  Ensure your engines are warmed up before you push them.

This mission will occur in four phases.

PHASE I consists of take off and staging.
- Aircraft will form up off the coast at designated locations until their specified start time.
- PONTIAC (Bostons) will stage 8 miles off the coast and begin flight to the target at 1009.
- B-17s will stage 4 miles off the coast and begin flight to the target at 1010.
- CHEVY will stage over the coastline at WP1 (Broadstairs) and begin flight to the target at 1010.

PHASE II is ingress to the target.
- PONTIAC will lead CHEVY flying 090 magnetic.  (P47s may differ; follow PONTIAC)
- Heavy bombers fly 100 to a more southerly IP.
- PONTIAC will lead in order strike enemy antiaircraft sites first.

PHASE III is the attack on the Zeebrugge port facilities.
- PONTIAC will target enemy 88mm flak positions and other antiaircraft in the area.
- B-17s will target the dockyard and repair facilities.
- CHEVY will target fuel storage sites and any targets of opportunity.
- CHEVY should remain in the target area until B-17s are departing.

PHASE IV is the return to Manston Field.
- All aircraft will fly 270 magnetic.
- All aircraft should stay alert for enemy fighters during the return flight.

DEVELOPER NOTES:

Follow the mission instructions to increase your chances of success.  Enemy aircraft may appear at any time after Allied forces are detected near Zeebrugge.

This is a fictional mission but there was a famous (and disasterous) Zeebrugge Port Raid in World War I by the Royal Marines.  Check it out.

This mission uses a skin pack for the B-17s.  Not required but it looks great.  Highly recommended!
