Fictionalized livery depicting Wedge Antilles' X-Wing at the Battle of Yavin
This skin is inpired by SWE-Timberwolf's Star Wars-themed skins for several different modules for DCS, and actually uses a couple of items from the set, mainly the LUA file, bort numbers, and the initial pilot suit skin, which was modified by me to have the white flak jacket. This project was an experiment to see how close I could replicate the livery seen on the original ILM studio models made for the original Star Wars film that was released in 1977. Wedge's X-Wing was a choice I made between having a livery that was close to what people expected an X-Wing to look like and having at least some embelishment on top of that but not being as wacky as Red 6 - Porkins, for example (I'll let you look that one up for yourselves.) This was a lot of fun to make, and I'm working on making the other five squadron members, Reds 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and I'm planning future skins for the A-10C, F-14B, and F-16C. Enjoy!
