Our Intel have discovered that the opposing forces are manufacturing chemical weapons on an industrial basis. They have located four sites where manufacturing is currently underway. It has been decided to use the element of surprise and attack all four sites in one early morning strike. You have been selected to pilot a single F18C, call sign "Puma", and execute this early morning operation.
You will leave Batumi Air Base at 6.00 am in the morning and attack two targets. You will then traverse the mountains and land at Nalchik Air Base. Here you will refuel and rearm using the same weapons load out. You will then proceed to attack two further targets and finally fence out and land on the Stennis fleet based off the coast.
Your load out consists of Aim9X, Mark83s and one central external fuel tank. You will be supported overhead by Dark Star. As the operation proceeds the element of surprise will reduce. The operation will take about 80 minutes. This mission is fully voiced.
“It’s a beautiful morning as the day is about to break, you are on the apron in the hornet with its powerful twin engines already spinning. The green glow of the many instruments dance over your visor. Two transport planes are leaving in the amber twilight on another covert operation. You await your clearance with anticipation which will spell the start of your mission.”
The chemical plants are highly explosive, so it will only be necessary to drop one Mark 83 at a time.
Intel have indicated that each site is protected with ground-based guns.
The chemical plants require water for cooling so each is set about the perimeter of a lake. The way points entered into your computer for the four lakes are Way Points 2,3,5 and 6.
Way Point 4 comprises Initials for Nalchik Air Base not the base itself. You should navigate to fly through way point 4 whilst flying a heading of 236. This will set you up for the Nalchik approach runway 24. ( The location of the actual runway is Way Point 8)
You need to be able to refuel and rearm at Nalchik and set up your Tacan (10X) to find the Stennis on completion.
Keep an eye on fuel usage as air to air refuelling is not currently available in this area.
The mission is trigger based and so it is important you follow all way points and directions.
There is no need to use radios as all voiced messages are trigger based.
Labels are on. ( I use reduced dots in VR). You can switch them off if you want.
