BFT01 - Ground Taxi is the first mission of the Basic Flight Training Qualification Course for the Ka-50 Black Shark.
I'm Capt. Alexi Smirnovich, call sign "Reaper", and will be your Flight Examiner (FE) for this Performance Objective (PO).
This PO is BFT01 - Ground Taxi and is the first mission of the Basic Flight Training Qualification Course for the Ka-50 Black Shark.
Your grading will be based on the following in accordance with the Ka-50 Aircrew Evaluation Criteria: AFI11-2KA-50V1:
TASK 1022: Perform Pre-Flight Inspection
Qualified (Q): Established and adhered to station, start engine, taxi and take-off times to assure thorough preflight, check of personal equipment, crew briefing, etc. Accurately determined readiness of aircraft for flight. Performed all checks and procedures prior to takeoff in accordance with approved checklists and applicable directives.
Qualified Minus (Q-): Same as above except for minor procedural deviations which did not detract from mission effectiveness.
Unqualified (U): Omitted major item(s) of the appropriate checklist. Major deviations in procedure which would preclude safe mission accomplishment. Failed to accurately determine readiness of aircraft for flight. Crew errors directly contributed to late takeoff which degraded the mission or made it non-effective.
TASK 1034: Perform Ground Taxi
Qualified (Q): Maintained speed appropriate for conditions. Maintained ground track +/- 3 feet.
Qualified Minus (Q-): Same as above except for minor deviations which did not detract from mission effectiveness.
Unqualified (U): Demonstrated unsatisfactory handling of aircraft. Failed to maintain appropriate speed or ground track.
To pass the start-up procedure test your checklist must include the following items: Battery 1 ON, Battery 2 ON, FWD Fuel Pump ON, Aft Fuel Pump ON, Fuel Gauge ON, Hydraulics / EKRAN Power OPER, Left Fuel Shutoff Valve OPEN, Right Fuel Shutoff Valve OPEN, NAV System Power ON, K-041 Power ON, Rotor Brake OFF, Weapon System Power ON, ABRIS Power ON, INU Heater ON, INU ON, Left EEG ON, Right EEG ON, Left Engine Cutoff Valve OPEN, Formation Lights ON, VHF-1 Radio ON, Blade Tip Lights ON, Navigation Lights ON, Ejection System ON, Anti-Collision Beacon ON, Intercom ON, VHF-2 Radio ON, VHF+TLK ON, Datalink Power ON, Right Engine Cutoff Valve OPEN, NAV Datalink Power ON, PVI Mode OPER, L-140 ON, Datalink Mode SET, Flight Director ON, Fire Extinguisher Mode OPER, UV-26 OPER, Altitude Channel ON, Bank Channel ON, Pitch Channel ON, Heading Channel ON, Left Generator ON, Right Generator ON, DC Power OFF, AC Power OFF, APU OFF, APU Fuel Shutoff Valve CLOSED, EKRAN Voice System Test PRESS.
To pass the shutdown procedure test your checklist must include the following items: Ejection System OFF, Master Arm SAFE, K-041 OFF, ABRIS OFF, VHF-1 Radio OFF, VHF-2 Radio OFF, VHF+TLK OFF, Datalink OFF, Weapon System Power OFF, NAV System Power OFF, INU OFF, INU Heater OFF, L-140 OFF, UV-26 OFF, Left Generator OFF, Right Generator OFF, Left Engine Cutoff Valve CLOSED, Right Engine Cutoff Valve CLOSED, Left Fuel Shutoff Valve CLOSED, Right Fuel Shutoff Valve CLOSED, Rotor Brake ON,Navigation Lights OFF, Formation Lights OFF, Anti-Collision Beacon OFF, Battery 1 OFF, Battery 2 OFF.
Start the bird and then follow me in the Humvee.
When following the Humvee a good distance is to keep the back of the Humvee centered in the HUD about the width of the pitch ladder. If you are too slow or get too close to the Humvee this will effect your rating.
