Set of 17 training missions for the F-15C set in the Caucasus covering all important aspects of flying the F-15C, aimed at beginners but hopefully useful to intermediate pilots as well! Lessons cover topics including cold start, takeoff, visual landing, ILS landing, navigation, RWR, radar operation, basic BVR tactics, aerial gunnery, and air-to-air refueling.

A mission you can run either solo or with friends to practice air combat.  It is meant for getting into the action quickly and resetting quickly so all aircraft are airstart so you can get many fights in over a short period of time.  You can fly any air superiority fighter in DCS (essentially anything with a dedicated air to air radar).  If you want to practice with a specific weapons loadout you can land at your nearby airbase to refuel/repair/rearm.  AWACS can also be called up so you can get bogey calls and can practice using datalink (for those aircraft that support it).  The DCS module Supercarrier is now included.

Flyable aircraft: F-5, F-14A, F-14B, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, M2000, Mirage F-1, Mig-21, Mig-29, SU-27, SU-33, J-11, JF-17

AI aircraft: F-4, F-5, F-14A, F-14B, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, M2000, Mirage F-1, Mig-21, Mig-23, Mig-25, Mig-29, Mig-31, SU-27, SU-30, SU-33, J-11, JF-17

GO TO F10/OTHER MENU AND SELECT "ADD BANDIT."  EACH TIME YOU MAKE SUCH A SELECTION, ANOTHER RANDOM GROUP WILL BE SPAWNED.  Up to 15 groups can be spawned.  

BULLSEYE  IS AT THE CENTER OF THE ENEMY ZONE.  SPAWNED BANDITS WILL ATTACK AS YOU PASS INTO SYRIAN AIRSPACE.

IF THE TANKER OR AWACS HAS STOPPED RESPONDING, YOU CAN RESPAWN EITHER IN THE F10/OTHER RADIO MENU AS WELL.

For the last few months I have been working on a BVR guide for both my squadron and for the general DCS community. It is not specifically suited to any particular aircraft, nor does it contain threat-specific info (those will come in later manuals). It is designed to be a good BVR fundamentals and concepts resource for new pilots getting into DCS, and for even experienced pilots that want to sharpen their skills. It currently focuses on single ship employment, but sometime in the not-too-far future I intend to add information on multi-ship targeting and tactics, I have tried to use RL terminology/concepts when appropriate, but there are a few concepts/terms in here that I essentially made up for a lack of better description. After building the training mission and spending many hours learning to fly our jets it came to our attention that we needed a proper dogfighting arena...

so we built one

The briefing has all the information you need on the mission, but basically there are 2 "arenas" the "main arena" and the "close-in arena"

The "Main Arena" is a 200 nm battle space with "bullseye" in the centre. choose your weapons and conditions, add in an AWACS if you want and then take off and use tactics and skill to engage and kill the OPFOR

The second arena is the "close-in Arena", the same aircraft are available for each side, you take off from airports 3nm apart. chose your conditions, guns, fox 2's or whatever. takeoff, form up, fly to whatever area you want, climb to altitude then break/turn and fights on!

Both areas also feature a few extra options, like an escort of some B52's in the main arena or spawnable AI fighters in the close-in arena
