Spitfire SM309, coded AU-H, of No. 421 "Red Indian" Squadron, RCAF, circa April, 1945. Flown by F/L Richard “Hap” Beall. Original aircraft was a Mk.XVIe with clipped wings, broad chord rudder and 20mm/.50 cal armament.
This is a skin from the 421st FS Black Widows as they were during Operation Desert Storm, Doing mostly night missions with 1300/1400 missions being night sorties, and not a single loss. By the way Credit to lee1hy for the inspiration and Nightstorm for the base livery.
I have added the pre 1992 stencils on this bird as well as the old tail flash. the pinup on the left side behind the cockpit is of Bart Simpson, and while not 100% historical i have seen F-16s in this squadron as well as others painting pinups on their aircraft so I would label this historical fiction.
