The previous livery of Manat, the Israeli Air Force Flight Test Center, was one of the most distinctive and eye-catching schemes ever applied to the F-16D. The vertical tail featured 21 bold orange stripes, symbolizing the unit’s innovative and experimental role. At the center of the tail appeared the squadron’s emblem, set inside a stylized Star of David frame, giving the aircraft a unique and highly recognizable appearance even from a distance.
This special livery was carried by only two F-16D aircraft, serial numbers 601 and 020, which were used primarily as platforms for flight testing, systems integration, and advanced development programs. The fact that only two aircraft wore this scheme makes it particularly rare and notable among aviation enthusiasts.
The livery remained in service until approximately 2006, after which it was replaced with a different design.
