So far Japan has only acquired 13 AH-64D Longbow attack helicopters, all deployed to the 3rd Anti-Tank Helicopter Unit. Since locally AH-1S Cobra are classified as anti-tank helicopter and AH-64 Apache are as combat helicopters, the said Unit was redesignated as the 1st Combat Helicopter Unit on 18 March, 2021.
Each JGSDF Apache in real life is dusted off and serviced with care. Masks from official paint kit are utilized with original hand-painted ones added, to replicate the
weathering effects true to the real life.
I hereby represent to you all rivet counters, the JGSDF AH-64D livery with all details modeled to the finest.
In regards to surface modelling, there's no public info on specific coding published by JGSDF for the paint scheme. In terms of color matching despite the FS coded color available for model kits, there're still plenty of factors to consider: weathering, tainting, fading under exposure etc. All things considered, after referencing 1300 photos collected from either public domain or by myself, what represented here is as photorealistic as it can be.
Stenciled texts in Latin alphabet are kept original in most parts, albeit with minor adjustment. For stenciled Kanji, again without the benefit of public info, the methodology here is to image trace from IRL counterparts. All for replicating the details to the greatest extent.

陸上自衛隊のアパッチの保有機数は目達原駐屯地の所属の6機を含め12機、2021年3月18日にAH-64Dを唯一装備する第3対戦車ヘリコプター隊が「第1戦闘ヘリコプター隊」に称号変更しました。
陸上自衛隊のアパッチは丁寧に整備され、殆ど傷やほこりが見えない状態になっています。リアルな外観を実現するために、吹き曝しの痕跡が復元できる新しいマスクを制作しました。 この作品には、リベットの細部まで私はかなりの労力をかけて作りました。位置や色だけでなく、機体材料の質感も復元するために、1300枚以上の写真を参考にして制作しました。
DCSに塗装を作るのは初めてですが、この塗装を200時間以上かけて、細部まで手を抜かず、最高のものにしたいと思いながら磨きました。 写真によって光や環境などの関係で迷彩の本当の色はわからないのですが、これらを参考にしてDCSの環境に最適な色を探しました。 ぜひゲーム中でこの塗装の細部までを楽しんでください。
