Well here it is, hopefully, the final version of our training map, it started back in 2019 (v1 was uploaded 09/11/2019) when we decided to make a tanker refueling mission for learning AAR, turns out we got a bit carried away. this is it as it currently stands, it has been HUGELY OPTIMISED and has morphed into something hopefully useful, it should be after 2 YEARS OF WORK haha.

we use it for training, meeting and warming up before a mission, testing things or just blowing stuff up, we have tried to include something for every kind of training and set it up in a way that any rig can run it. everything is done through the stock editor with no scripts or trickery. very simple to use and easy to run.

-------------------------Basics-------------------------
All locations are marked on the map

Except for basic ground targets and player spawn positions, all other areas need to be spawned via F10 Radio Commands
(See Radio Menu Below)

Map Key is at the far WESTERN side of the map
as a general rule if the line is solid it starts with the mission, if the line is dotted or dashed it requires a spawn

All aircraft/helicopters are available

Hot and Cold start versions are available for most platforms

BLUFOR - CJTF Blue
OPFOR - CJTF Red
The United Nations Peacekeepers have kindly lent us some Airshow Cones, so that's nice

Naming conventions as follows (Group Name)
1NZA - these are the main aircraft we use, feel free to change these
2NZA - these Aircraft are at Kutaisi
2NZA-H - these Helicopters are at Kutaisi
3NZA - Naval Aviation Units, Aircraft/Helicopters on Carriers
4NZA - Special-purpose aircraft eg SEAD, Interceptor etc.
5NZA - These Aircraft are at Senaki-Kolkhi, these are all the other aircraft I could not fit at Kutaisi
5NZA WW2 - WW2 aircraft based at Senaki-Kolkhi
Taniwha - These are the BFM Aircraft, they start East or West in the BFM Area flying head to head, 10 nm apart, merge fights on
Both BLUFOR and OPFOR have Taniwa aircraft
where possible they have no pylons
they are in bright or interesting liveries, cause why not
Huey Fight - like the Taniwha aircraft but Hueys around different areas, loaded with miniguns, a full tank of gas and some bad intentions.


COMBINED ARMS:
Both factions have Gamemaster, Tactical Commander, JTAC and Observer roles available.
all vehicles for CA do not need to be spawned via radio, they start with the mission
there is a player JTAC unit available for player use in the eastern Player/JATC laser target area, once in it, drive forward to between the tyres to spawn targets (if not already spawned)
There is a small hill with all player useable CA SAM and AAA systems due north of Kutaisi, they will not work unless there is a player in them, so you do not need to worry about their threat when unoccupied

-------------------Aircraft Carriers--------------------
- No Spawn Required, these start at mission start
- all carriers are heading northwest, all in a loose formation
- most carriers have ships sailing with them to use for visual line up etc.

The Roosevelt has a few extras with it
- E-2D flying above it at 30000ft
- S-3B Recovery tanker, orbiting overhead at 6000ft, following the ship
- SH-60B in formation flying alongside the ship
these are there as we expect that the Roosevelt will get most of the flying as its the supercarrier

-------------------Basic Air To Ground----------------------

There are several Basic Air to Ground ranges that do not need to spawn via radio on the map, these are as follows

Basic A2G Targets
these are targets in the most basic sense, 2 formations of troops and a medium formation of trucks and armour. this range is extremely close to Kutaisi, on an island 10 nm WSW of the airfield. this range is great for your most basic attacking, testing a new weapon or just venting rage after a long day at work

Ground Targets area
There is a bunch of targets spread around the 2 lakes 25nm ENE of Kutaisi, this range is great for practising TPOD work, Maveric or other precision strike weapons or practising Airborn lasing or buddy lase, there are plenty of targets, easy to see and kill, great for practising talk on's or anything else really, also I'm not sure how they did it but there's a few ships there including a bloody big tanker, might need to become a reef, or an environmental disaster, have fun

Airbase Attack
Sukhumi-Babushara has been asking for it for a while now, time to give them some. this airbase is a combination of the other 2 areas with the added distance factor, time to set up your gear, start searching, radar, TPOD whatever, everything fr om troops to hardened bunkers here, friendly airbases nearby for rearm

Bombing Bullseye
who doesn't love a good game of lawn darts?
Choose your platform, arm up and see who can get their bomb closest to the bullseye, also good for precision weapon testing or anything else you can think of doing with a bunch of concentric rings...

The UN is letting us use the cones, be a shame to waste them!

-------------------Combined Arms----------------------

There are 2 locations for Player Combined arms that do not need to spawn via radio on the map, these are as follows

1) The Player Controlled CA SAM Site
this area has all of the SAM units that players can drive, use them to practise as a SAM operator, or more usefully to practise SEAD and Evasion techniques, it's much easier to practise when a player can tell you what they're up to when they lock when they launch and even terminate the missile before it hits the target if needs be.

these platforms are invulnerable, as they are not intended for DEAD training (we have other SAMS for that) if you do want to use them for DEAD just count any hits from weapons as a kill. much easier than resetting the mission!

NOTE: This SAM Site only operates with players in it. it does not function with AI at all so you will be safe from it when not in operation

2) Player controlled CA JTAC Site
this area to the east is marked on your map, it is a shared area for JTAC between Player (starts spawned) and AI JTAC (Spawns in off radio command) as a player JTAC you can do all the usual JTAC stuff. mark with smoke, designate a target with IR or target laser etc, so go give it a nudge, good fun blowing up shit with 2000lb laser-guided bombs!

NOTE: to spawn the targets in this area drive forward between the 6 tyres with red flags, when spawned successfully there will be a message informing you they have spawned, you'll probably see the targets too.

---------------------BFM-------------------------
- No Spawn Required, Player Only slots

Over the Crimean Peninsula, there is a BFM area, miles away from anything that could interfere or distract from the scrap, you will start at 15000 ft 10 nm apart, hit the merge and fights on!

BFM UNITS ARE NAMED "TANIWHA" ON BOTH RED AND BLUE LISTS

* Guns only
*All aircraft in the game are available
*no helicopters
*Full tanks, No bags, No Missiles
* 4 of each aircraft available for each side

------------------------Helicopter Ops---------------------------
- No Spawn Required, Player Only slots

Their area is a selection of helicopters at Kutaisi, cold and hot start available

There is a helipad in front of the control tower at Kutaisi with some cargo crates around it to practise sling loading

There are 2x Helipads and 2x FARP's available,
* Helipad infront of the tower at Kutaisi - Dublin 119am
* Helipad above the Tunnel - Moscow 129am
* FARP On an island in the river just north of ZUGDIDI - London 139am
* West of AMBROLAURI and below SADMELI - Berlin 149am

HUEYFIGHT!
ever wanted to do some BFM in Huey's with miniguns? here's your chance. Hueyfight aircraft start hot at random locations around the area listed in the description (there are a few areas to choose from to keep it fresh) with full tanks, a loud livery, 2 miniguns and plenty of ammo, master arm on, pull for power, fights on!

-------------------Radio Menu----------------------
Given the massive amount of stuff going on in this mission to optimise it as much as possible all of the training types (except just basic ground units to attack) will need to be spawned in.

here is a brief rundown of the options.
NOTE: more information will be given in the subsections of this document

AAR - Tankers - Spawns all the Air to Air Refueling Tankers
A2A - Random Scramble - Randomly scrambles a flight of 4
A2A - Manual Scramble - lets you scramble any desired flight of 4
A2A - Bomber Intercept - 3 different shots at intercepting a CVG Strike
A2A - Bomber Escourt - B52 - Escourt 9 Buffs to ruin 3 runways
A2G - Moving Targets - spawns 3 groups of moving targets
A2G - Drone/JTAC - spawns an AI drone and an AI JTAC and their targets
A2G - ALL SAM Sites - Spawns all SAM sites available in DCS
A2G - SAM Challenge - let's leave this one a surprise...
A2S - All OPFOR Ships - Spawns all OPFOR Ships


---------------Air to Air Refueling-----------------
- Choose " AAR - Tankers" from F10 Menu to spawn

tanker paths are marked in dotted green lines

there are 3 "locations" wh ere you will find tankers

1) 4 tankers flying racetrack patterns around Kutaisi
* They are staggered in range, altitude and starting location
* One in each corner of a square
* KC-135s start in the same place and fly the same course separated by 1 nm
2) 2 KC-135s flying high over the mountains to the north
3) 1 S-3B orbiting with the Roosevelt as a recovery tanker

ARCO 1-1 is the recovery tanker that orbits the carrier, starts with the mission, does not spawn with the "AAR - Tankers"


---------------------Air To Air-------------------------
- Radio Spawn Required
- all aircraft spawn on runways and will need to take off, they do not air start
- you have 4 A2A spawn options

1) Random Scramble
(Radio>Other>A2A - Random Scramble)
- Will randomly scramble a flight (9 different flights could scramble)
- sometimes 2 flights will spawn on one roll, just to make it interesting

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Randomiser will always randomise through all 9 options, early on in the random scramble most "rolls" will spawn a flight, later on, you may have to hit it a few times. if a flight is spawned you will get a message saying so. you will also get a message when all of the aircraft have been scrambled


2) Manual flight Scramble
(Radio>Other>Manual Scramble
Reopen Radio>Other>aircraft type)
* After selecting 'Manual Scramble' you will need to reopen the radio to sel ect the flights to scramble
* Each flight can only be scrambled once

IMPORTANT NOTE: Selecting manual scramble will remove all other menu options. we have included a "Return to Main Menu" option that reloads the main menu for the map however this can only be used 10 times, so if you are intending to do several different spawns manually do them all then go back to the main menu if needed rather than burning up the "return to main menu" shots


3) Bomber Intercept
(Radio>Other>Bomber Intercept)
* Russian bombers will spawn by the Crimean Peninsula and head South East for the Carriers. You will have to intercept them before they kill the carriers.
* 3 waves available, each one spawned after the one before via the radio command

NOTE: they all spawn away fr om each other so, Choose your difficulty, spawn one, kill everything, spawn another or spawn 2 or fire them all off for a doomsday attack

4) Bomber Escort
9 B52s will spawn at Kutaisi and take off as fast as they can (lol)
targets are the runways in the marked area to the south-east
OPFOR will not let you do wreck their runways without a fight so they will scramble a random number of interceptors to ruin your day
0,2,4,6 or 8 interceptors could spawn (they spawn at random)
make the escort harder by using "ALL SAM Sites" that will put SAMs in the target area as well as fighters!

on a personal note, you have no idea how many hours it took to get these 3 formations of bombers to fly together. days of work

---------------------Air To Ground-------------------------
- Radio Spawn Required
- You have 4 A2G spawn options

1) A2G - Moving Targets
this spawns 3 groups of moving targets
* 10 vehicles in each group
1 Group on road, Visible, moving W-E, then E-W, starting in POTI
1 Group off-road, Visible, Around the bombing target
1 Group on road HIDDEN and moving randomly  WITHIN A 25NM RADIUS OF GORI
All group areas are marked on the map
* Spawn the units, find them, kill them, easy

2) A2G - Drone/JTAC
This starts 2 areas (both marked on your map of course)
one is a drone serviced laser designation range to the south,
Guided weapons only
Contact on the way in, follow the procedures

The other is a ground JTAC that spawns beside the "Player JTAC" unit and works the same target area
Guided weapons only
Contact on the way in, follow the procedures
both use the full in-game JTAC stuff, 9 lines radio comms etc
both will mark with WP, Laser or both

3) A2G - ALL SAM Sites
*This spawns one of each type of sam site available in the game
*all SAM Locations are marked on the map with labels and dotted white circles.
*they are arranged in such a way that you can get to each one without accidentally running into another one.
* there are 3 SEAD/DEAD airfields on the map, North East, North West and South West, these all have the same aircraft (Group Name 4NZA XXXX) they are located closer to the main SAM areas than starting at Kutaisi, if you're in a hurry

4) A2G - SAM Challenge
I'm just going to say it. It's all the SAMs, all in the same place.

fire off this challenge if you are brave enough (or stupid enough in our case) then head into SAM hell, there are 2 sites close together, one is all the Russian SAM the other is all the NATO SAMs, they both want you dead, Can you make them DEAD first? (see what I did there? very clever)



-------------------------Anti-Ship-Warfare---------------------------
- Radio Spawn Required
Select "All OPFOR Ships" to spawn the following

all ships spawn at marked areas and head North West

1 Big ass tanker for your basic ASW Practise

2 OPFOR Corvettes and 2 frigates, these guys shoot back and will defend themselves against attacks, CWIS, short and medium-range weapons

A 4 Ship OPFOR CVG, this is the big time, these guys shoot back, defend themselves and will ruin your day out to long ranges. you have been warned


-------------------------Other---------------------------

There are 4 command bunkers located on the GPS coordinates of famous locations in Georgia. The point of this is for target id and bunker-busting practise. See if you can destroy them all

* Alphabetic Tower - 41°39'xxx"N 41°38'xxx"E
* Katskhi Column - 42°17'xxx"N 43°12'xxx"E
* Friendship Monument - 42°29'xxx"N 44°27'xxx"E
* Sochi Autodrom - 43°24'xxx"N 39°58'xxx"E
didn't think I was going to give you the full coordinates did you, there's no fun in just JDAMing them, go look for them! don't want the JDAM blues now do you?

-------------------------NOTES---------------------------

You may land at any friendly or neutral airfield to refuel, rearm and repair

Once the area is destroyed that's it until the mission restart.

All units are set to HARD OR BETTER SETTINGS no point practicing with crap AI!

This mission has no scripts and is 100% mission editor based
