Tensions have been building between Oman, now a U.S. ally, and Iran. Unbeknownst to the world, Iran has purchased about a dozen submarines from Russia and is launching a demonstration of this new part of their Navy against Oman. This move against Oman has just come to our attention via drone radar and sonar detection in shallow water. It appears that these subs are now headed for the northern point of Oman. The only strategic target there is five desalinization plants. If any part of this facility is damaged, or worse yet destroyed, thousands could go thirsty. Why are you the only hope for Oman? Well, because this is a single player script of course.
The subs have to surface to fire a torpedo. Once a submarine surfaces, you must locate it and destroy it before it gets a chance to line up a shot at the desalinization complex. Orbit above and do the best you can to stop the subs. If one gets too close before you destroy it, it might get a torpedo in the water. You'll see the damage to the complex if they get a shot off and then you'll have failed in defending the people of Oman. Three direct torpedo hits could completely destroy the complex for total mission failure. But the loss of just one or two plants will cause famine.
Multiple drones will be orbiting above and will provide a bird's eye view of the area to help you with real-time detection and situational awareness. "Guardian 1" is the call sign for the drone operator and contact with which you will be in constant communication. Once a submarine is located, you will have only seconds to put it down with specially designed rockets called "sub killers". If needed, don't forget about using the armor-piercing explosive incendiary rounds in your cannon.
